Temperatures could pass 30 C in Vancouver this weekend

Make plans to hit the beach this weekend

July in Vancouver is going to be a hot one.

This week, a will build up in the region, bringing clear skies and high temperatures. Updated forecasts show rising temperatures.

It seems those temperatures are going to be among the highest Vancouver has experienced so far in 2024 as V.I.A.'s Weatherhood stations show some neighbourhoods will crack 30 C.

Areas near the water will be notably cooler; the current Weatherhood forecast shows neighbourhoods will peak at around 28 C on Sunday, July 7. Neighbourhoods not far from the ocean's edge will be a bit warmer, like (expected to hit 30 C on Sunday).

However, further inland, where ocean breezes won't bring cooler air, temperatures will get warmer. Southern and southeastern parts of the city could pass 30 C, according to V.I.A.'s Weatherhood.

 and in southeast Vancouver, the whole weekend will be hot with forecasted temps of 31 C on Saturday and 32 C on Sunday, followed by 31 C on Monday.

Just outside of Vancouver, in western Burnaby, temperatures are expected to reach 33 C on Sunday.
