'Do keep yourself dry': Plenty of rain forecast for Vancouver this week

"It's not steady rain we're expecting, and it's not heavy"

It'll be another rainy week in Vancouver, according to the forecast.

After a very wet Sunday, Vancouver's forecast shows the city will just be wet this week.

The is expected to taper off Sunday and Monday, Environment Canada meteorologist Nan Lu tells V.I.A., but rainy weather will still dominate the week ahead.

"It's not steady rain we're expecting, and it's not heavy," she points out.

Monday, March 24, will see moderate rain in the morning, as the heavy rain of Sunday lessens. It'll ease throughout the day, and by Tuesday, March 25, the storm will have become showers, Lu says.

"There might be sunny breaks," she adds.

However, that drying trend will end on Tuesday.

"We still have a low-pressure system rotating offshore with bands of rain pushing across the south coast," Lu says.

That means Wednesday and Thursday will see periods of rain and showers throughout the day and night.

"Because it's mostly not very organized, it's hard to put an amount," Lu says, adding that significant rainfall isn't expected.

"It's not steady rain we're expecting, and it's not heavy," she explains.

Temperatures for the first four days of the week are expected to be slightly above average, with highs of up to 15 C, Lu adds.

Things are forecast to change a bit on Friday, March 28, when a new system with moderate rainfall is expected to arrive in Metro Vancouver. The new system will bring slightly cooler temperatures.

"Temperatures are near seasonal, but it'll still be wet so do keep yourself dry," says Lu.
