An empty lot in Greenwood B.C. has come up for sale

A 50-foot wide, quarter-acre parcel of land in Canada's smallest incorporated city has been listed for $61,500.

Located in Greenwood, B.C. (), the skinny, serviced piece of real estate is 233 feet deep, and has no structures on it.

Greenwood's population was once made up almost exclusively of 1,100 interned who were imprisoned there during the Second World War.

The Greenwood internment camp was the first one in Canada and, after the war, many of the freed prisoners chose to stay there and make the city their permanent home.

While it has a dark history, Greenwood currently boasts the "best tap water in the world," along with relatively affordable real estate, and quite a bit of not-so-dark history as well.
