Many years ago, my extended family and I were part of Squamish, which feels like 100 years ago.
Recently, I found a CD at a Kelowna thrift store: ‘Leaning On The Everlasting Arms,’ home-recorded by the 麻豆社国产United Church choir. It’s recorded on a Memorex C/D, handwritten around the edge, with no date.
The first song is the title of the CD and the last song is “Walk Worthy.”
It’s wonderful.
Being a heathen and a sinner, I’ve only been to a few real church services other than weddings and funerals, but if I ever make it back to 麻豆社国产on a Sunday, I’d go to this church, if their choir is still singing, and rejoice in their great voices.
I send this letter to the editor thinking there may be people in 麻豆社国产who were, or still are, part of this choir and have them know it’s still being listened to and appreciated.
