Many years ago, my extended family and I were part of Squamish, which feels like 100 years ago.
Recently, I found a CD at a Kelowna thrift store: ‘Leaning On The Everlasting Arms,’ home-recorded by the Â鶹Éç¹ú²úUnited Church choir. It’s recorded on a Memorex C/D, handwritten around the edge, with no date.
The first song is the title of the CD and the last song is “Walk Worthy.”
It’s wonderful.
Being a heathen and a sinner, I’ve only been to a few real church services other than weddings and funerals, but if I ever make it back to Â鶹Éç¹ú²úon a Sunday, I’d go to this church, if their choir is still singing, and rejoice in their great voices.
I send this letter to the editor thinking there may be people in Â鶹Éç¹ú²úwho were, or still are, part of this choir and have them know it’s still being listened to and appreciated.
