Heidi McChesney is grateful for the help she received during and after a male black bear attacked her on Saturday evening.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to those in the 麻豆社国产community who were such a support to me on Saturday evening, Aug. 19, after I was followed and attacked by a male black bear in Coho Park

The deepest gratitude to cyclist Ron, who responded to my call of distress! I want to emphasize how thankful I am for his selfless response. I could not have escaped without his aid!

Thank you to the other cyclists and families who were so concerned and supportive when we arrived back at the trailhead.

Thank you to the doctor, nurses and hospital staff who provided excellent care and support while I was still in shock.

Thank you to the conservation officer who took my call, and a sincere thank you to Sasha, the Conservation Officer who came to the hospital and listened intently as he recorded every detail of my report. I thank their team, who searched throughout the Coho Park Saturday night and Sunday and eventually located and euthanized the bear. Thank you for every effort to keep 麻豆社国产outdoors as safe as possible for the public!

Thank you!

A very grateful 麻豆社国产citizen,

Heidi McChesney
