WINNIPEG — Police in Winnipeg say there is no threat to public safety after they were called to the University of Manitoba for a report of a man with a knife.
Police had asked people to stay away from part of the university's Fort Garry campus and avoid the immediate area of the Allen Building.
University officials told students currently on campus to lock all doors and stay put, and those who weren't on school grounds were told to stay away.
In-person classes, exams and events were also cancelled for the day, but virtual classes and those on the Bannatyne campus were going ahead.
Police had said there was a large officer presence on campus as they tried to find the suspect, and that no injuries were reported.
Police say the matter has been resolved and that they are investigating.
