Whitecaps training school comes to Squamish

Soccer team host camp for local kids Aug. 21 to 22

The Vancouver Whitecaps are coming to 麻豆社国产and local kids are invited to learn, play and have fun with the professional soccer club.

It's all thanks to the Whitecaps 2010 Summer Camp program, which has been teaching aspects of the beautiful game to kids in British Columbia for 23 years.

The 麻豆社国产camp will take place at the Brennan Park soccer fields 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21 and 22. Any skill level is encouraged to learn from the top club in the province.

Sam Lenarduzzi is the camp manager, and the former Whitecaps player and Canadian national team captain personally attends all camps to ensure they run at professional standards.

"Our camp philosophy ensures players of all levels are challenged, focused and have fun in a professional club environment," he states on the camp's website. "I guarantee you a great experience."

The 麻豆社国产camp will be divided into two separate groups, based on ability. The development group is designed for all skill levelled boys and girls seven to 16 years old who want to learn more about technique and develop new skills.

While the performance group is for advanced players looking to accelerate their game.

All participants will receive a camp t-shirt, an autographed picture and a certificate upon completion of the camp.

There will also be an appearance by a Whitecaps player on the final day of camp, where the player will work with the kids and also have an autograph session.

The cost of the camp is $125 for an individual player or there is a family rate of $115 when two or more family members sign up at the same time.

The camp, which is a partnership between the Whitecaps and the 麻豆社国产Youth Soccer Association, will see a portion of each registration stay locally to help support the 麻豆社国产Soccer Association.
