Loggers Sports athlete makes triumphant comeback

Jacqulin McNicol suffers scary injury then returns to compete

It all happened in an instant for Loggers Sports athlete Jacqulin McNicol.

One second she was competing in a Jill and Jill hand bucking event, the next second the saw cut through the wood and then cut into her left leg.

"It was right at the end and we had just finished our cut," McNicol said. "We were on pace for one of our best times ever when the saw cut through and then cut right into my leg."

The saw pierced and dug into McNicol's thigh, causing painful damage.

She was immediately rushed to the 麻豆社国产General Hospital and was quickly mended back together with 13 stitches.

McNicol had nothing but praise for the medical staff that helped her out.

"I really want to say thanks to the 麻豆社国产General Hospital for the good work they did and how fast they did it," she said.

In fact, she got the medical work she needed done so fast that she was able to return to the Loggers Sports event a short time after her injury.

She then approached Loggers Sports president Bryan Couture and organizer John Hurford and begged them to come back and compete in the choker race.

"She came up to me after coming back from the hospital and begged me to compete in the choker race," Couture said. "We let the crowd decide and they wanted to see her and she ended up winning."

"She's a hard rock," said Al McIntosh, the master of ceremonies for the event. "There's not much to her but she won the choker race, she's a really intense competitor."

McNicol returned to the ground and received a huge round of applause from everyone in attendance. She said she was thrilled with the response she got.

"I'm very thankful that the Loggers Sports group let me come back and compete," she said. "I got the fastest time in the choker race and it was really felt good to hear the crowd get behind me like they did."

This is the fifth 麻豆社国产Days Loggers Sports event for McNicol who noted that it's the first time that she's ever had any type of accident and that this incident won't deter her from competing in future events."

"I'll be fine," she said, walking away with a slight limp and a smile on her face.
