Young soccer stars in the Sea to Sky region will have the opportunity this spring to receive high-level training and competition throughout the corridor.
麻豆社国产Youth Soccer Association technical director Adam Day, who is also the men's head coach at Quest University, is starting up the program with the assistance of his UEFA licensed colleague Chris Cerroni from England.
"The inaugural season will only be for male players aged 16 to 18 and tryouts will be in the first week of March in preparation for the thrice-weekly sessions at Quest until the end of May," said Day.
"The program will hopefully extend to girls next year, and then trickle down the age groups should the Academy succeed as expected."
麻豆社国产U-18 team manager Peter Shrimpton, cofounder of the program and Whistler Youth Soccer Club President, added: "It's going to be a truly remarkable chance for the better football players in the corridor to get really good professional training with some great competitive games."
Pre-registration for the tryouts in the first week of March at Quest is required with Shrimpton at [email protected]. The anticipated program cost of $250 per player is heavily subsidized by corporate sponsors such as Walsh Restorations and Corona Excavations.
