In the meantime, the watersports beach at Sp'akw'us Feather Park has been closed to kiting.

The District told The 麻豆社国产 on July 30 that the work to finalize an investigation into the factors that contributed to the fatality is still underway.

"The work is expected to extend through most of August and a public statement to communicate any next steps will be shared upon completion," said a District spokesperson in an emailed statement. 

"District staff continue to work in consultation with the 麻豆社国产Windsports Society as subject matter experts. The District would like to thank the kiteboarding community for respecting the closure while we do this important work."
