Registration area for those receiving their COVID-19 vaccination. 麻豆社国产will have two pop-up Vancouver Coastal Health vaccination clinic locations in January.

It is likely not surprising to many in 麻豆社国产that our health region’s coronavirus numbers have gone up. Local social media and workplaces are seeing folks declare their status as positive of late.

For the week of Dec. 19 to 25, the Howe Sound region saw 391 positive cases of COVID-19, according to

That is the highest weekly count when there were 410 positive cases recorded.

Testing sites have been overwhelmed in the (VCH) area, including in Squamish, and so even people with mild symptoms of COVID-19 are being asked to self-isolate at home and not get tested.

Thus, current numbers are likely lower than the actual number of those who actually have COVID-19.

The BCCDC releases the numbers once a week. Figures are not released for smaller communities, like Squamish, within the VCH region.

The stretches from Lions Bay to Lillooet.

School exposures

remain on the VCH possible exposure list.

麻豆社国产Waldorf School had potential coronavirus exposure Nov. 15 to 18 and Nov. 23 to 25.

Skyridge Montessori School had potential exposures from Nov. 8 to 10 and Nov. 22 to 23.

On Dec. 29, Education Minister Jennifer Whiteside announced a delayed start to back to school in B.C., due to the spread of COVID-19 and concerns of overcrowding in schools as COVID-19 numbers rise.

For children of essential workers and those with special needs, schools will open on either Jan. 3 or 4. There will be a full return to classes for all students on Jan. 10.

Vaccinations

Howe Sound's for those 12 and older who have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine remains at 94%.

Of adults, 11% have had a booster or third dose.

For kids five years old to 11, 36% have received their first pediatric dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 pediatric vaccine.
