Once you have a permit in hand, make sure you bring it with you to the designated areas that allow for cutting trees.

- Cutting it cleanly at the base of the trunk
- Not leaving stumps that are pointy or unsafe
- Making sure you don’t leave debris behind, as it could fuel summer fires
