And the winners are #3. KITT from Knight Rider; #2. Ford Gran Torino from Starsky & Hutch
And the #1 coolest car ever to burn rubber on the small screen is of course none other than the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. And now the General has leapt to the big screen with yet another re-make of an old favorite. Well, as with any re-make of a classic one must be careful to accept changes yet know that some things must not be messed with. For instance, the General Lee is orange. Boss Hogg wears all white. Daisy Duke is a smokin' hot kick-ass brunette country girl.
This version unfortunately found the need to horribly miscast Daisy as a blond played by Jessica Simpson. Don't get me wrong, Jessica has talents, however acting is clearly not one of them. And that's knowing full well that you don't have to act to be in a Dukes of Hazzard production.
That aside I must say that this movie rocks because of knuckle head humor and the absolutely jaw dropping General Lee driving sequences. In an age of computer car chases it's refreshingly amazing to see a car flying through the streets knowing that some madman is actually behind the wheel.
The driving is so good that I recommend waiting at least an hour before driving home as the urge to jump your mini-van over the highway is unsettlingly strong.
