The Brackendale Art Galley is showcasing a range of local talent this month. An artist, performances by two bands and a Christmas craft market are coming up in November and December.
Angela Muellers, a landscape and portrait artist from Squamish, is showing her artwork in an exhibit, 鈥溌槎股绻鶳laces & Faces,鈥 for the month of November.
Muellers, who enjoys exploring the outdoors, began painting a child with her grandfather and later studied at the Victoria College of Art with a focus on modern art. You will notice many Sea to Sky landscapes in her collection.
鈥淟iving in a mountain valley gives one the opportunity to endlessly explore local forests and peaks. Every day produces some new wonder with seasonal and light changes. Attempts are made to go deep into the work and create many layers of space, form, and light,鈥 she wrote on her website, angelamuellers.com.
The Bluesberry Jam Showband plays on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. Founded by Keith Junkin, Woody Woodridge and Antti Makitalo, the Squamish-based band has been playing blues, rock-and-roll and R&B covers and originals for 20-plus years.
The Sea 鈥楾鈥 Sky Big Band鈥檚 17 local musicians play on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. You will hear classics like 鈥淪tompin鈥 at the Savory,鈥 as well as more modern tunes like the 1970 funk-rock tune 鈥淧ick up the Pieces鈥 and the theme song for the animated movie The Incredibles.
