It is a relatively new but already beloved tradition.

On June 17, the seventh annual Graduation Parade saw the graduating Grade 12s from Howe Sound Secondary parade with the Grade 6 graduating class of École Â鶹Éç¹ú²úElementary.

It is a tradition that began in 2018, organized by parent Heather Feeney.

"The very first students to partake in this annual event, who were in Grade 6 in 2018, are now in Grade 12 and graduating! It’s our full circle year and my how they’ve grown," said Feeney in an email to The Â鶹Éç¹ú²ú.

The parade is led by Howe Sound Secondary and École Â鶹Éç¹ú²úElementary principals, Erin Boisvert and Sarah Hain.

The parade leaves the high school, goes down Buckley Avenue, passes in front of the elementary school and then circles back around the building to the shared field.

The event was 'capped off' with a cap toss photo.

"Congratulations to all of the graduates in the Sea to Sky Corridor from elementary, middle and high school — class of 2024," said Feeney.
