While she goes by basking_shark on, this TikTokker is all about the cetaceans.
Katie Dentry lives on Saturna Island in the southern Gulf Islands where she lives close enough to the shore that she can run out to a viewpoint and watch for wildlife as it swims past. Last week she got down to the water fast enough to catch a spectacular performance by a pod of orcas swing within a few metres of shore, and Dentry herself.
The group of aquatic mammals seem curious about Dentry, swimming directly towards her, peeking up above the water and slapping the surface with their flukes.

Dentry has caught quite a few videos of whale behaviour from near her home, including orcas hunting and to speed up their swim.
Porpoise attack
The spot she watches from is the eastern tip of Saturna Island, a '' site. She's also part of some citizen science organizations that help track cetaceans (whales and dolphins) through the area.
