This B.C. town made Time Magazine's list of the 50 greatest destinations to visit in 2022

It's one of only two Canadian spots to make the global wanderlust bucket list

The B.C. town of Tofino has been included on a list of the most outstanding spots to visit in the world this year. 

Time Magazine has compiled a list of the  to visit in 2022 as countries around the world open up their borders to international travel. 

To compile its list, the American news publication asked its international network of correspondents for nominations, with a focus on those offering "new and exciting experiences."

The list includes a far-reaching variety of locations including everything from the colourful undersea kingdom of the Great Barrier Reef to the out-of-this-world wonder on board the International Space Station, the unparalleled wildlife-viewing opportunities on the Galápagos Islands to the canals of Copenhagen, and other unique spots around the globe. 

Time included Canada's surfing capital on its list of the top places to visit in its 2022 round-up. Aside from world-class surfing opportunities, the report authors note that it is an incredible destination to enjoy "wildlife tours, forest hiking, and walks along wide sandy beaches reconnect people with nature."

Toronto was the only other Canadian city to make the list, described as "a city begging to be discovered and appreciated." Time also mentions several of the city's attractions including the Lake Shore Inflatable Water Park, the Frida Immersive Dream, and the Toronto Biennial of Art.

One of the most popular shores near Tofino was recently included in a . Long Beach is part of three sections of the park, between Ucluelet and Tofino, and spans a whopping 10 kilometres.
