Motorcycle crash on Highway 99 near Lions Bay
A motorcycle crash shut down the highway for an hour on the morning of Oct. 10.
Police say a rider veered off the road at a curve, passed the highway shoulder and went into a ditch near Lions Bay.
Paramedics rushed the rider, who had serious injuries, to hospital.
Suspected attempted theft of catalytic converter
Police suspect a group of men were attempting to steal a catalytic converter, following information they received third-hand on Oct. 10.
A red Dodge pickup was driving aggressively downtown, dropping off three men who went to a car dealership on the 1100-block of Hunter Place, police say.
Officers say one of the men had a tool in hand and went underneath a white truck parked in the dealership’s parking lot.
Police say when someone asked the men what they were doing, they said they were just looking at the truck, then left.
One of the men is described as a white 20-year-old with a slim, tall build, a black hoodie with white lettering and a black hat.
Smashing mining equipment
Police arrested a man accused of smashing old mining equipment on Oct. 9.
Officers say the man was co-operative when interacting with police, but he had an arrest warrant related to a different incident in Squamish.
The man was brought to the station to be held for a bail hearing.
