Police looking for witnesses after pedestrian struck by driver in Langley

Anyone with dash camera footage between 4 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. are being asked to contact police.

Police were called to the Langley Bypass at 4:15 a.m. Friday for a collision.

A person is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while walking early in the morning.

Langley RCMP officers were called to the Langley Bypass at 4:15 a.m. on Friday.

The driver of the car was travelling westbound on the Langley Bypass when they struck a 44-year-old pedestrian who was crossing near Kwantlen Crescent. 

The pedestrain was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Cpl. Craig van Herk says the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police. 

BC Emergency Health Services says two people were transported to the hospital from the incident. 

Investigators are still working on determining the actions of the pedestrian before and at the time of the collision.

Police confirm with Glacier Media that there is not a marked crosswalk at the location.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called out to assist. ICARS is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death between Pemberton and Boston Bar.

The Langley Bypass will be closed in both directions for the investigation.

Police are looking for witnesses or anyone who has dash camera footage between 4 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. in the area around 20800 Langley Bypass.
