Meowfest is back for it's first in-person event in Vancouver since 2018

Vancouver's biggest cat purrrty is back!

returns on August 20 for a full day of cat-themed activities; shopping, workshops, adoptable kittens, food trucks, cat-themed beverage garden and more.

Justine Cheng, who is Meowfest's Event and Community Manager, says that they're planning some big things for this year's event, including a human-sized photo prop.

Besides cool vendors and cat-themed festivities, visitors can pet, play with and adopt a kitten. "We are working with Langley Animal Protection Society. They'll be bringing adoptable cats to event and we'll have an adoption area as well," says Cheng.

Cheng's favourite part of Meowfest extends past the furry friends; it's about "bringing the community together," the event organizer says. "Because everyone hasn't gotten together since 2018, I think everyone's just looking forward to connecting [again]."

The festival is on a mission "to throw a memorable purrty to increase awareness of cat rescue and adoption while raising funds for hardworking feline organizations," states the official website.

Event proceeds are donated to local cat shelters and organizations, such as BC SPCA, New Westminster Animal Shelter and The Pet Education Project. This year Meowfest is donating to Langley Animal Protection Society.

When: August 20, 2022

Where: Rocky Mountaineer Station - 1755 Cottrell Street

Cost: Ticket details TBA
