The One Mile Lake Nature Centre hopes a grant application for water, sewer and power improvements is successful.

The Spud Valley Nordic Association is completely volunteer-driven, and to help raise funds for the season ahead they invite Pembertonians and other Sea to Sky residents to the Lumpy's Epic.

Scheduled for Oct. 29 with registration at 9:30 a.m., Lumpy's Epic is a trail running race that starts and ends near One Mile Lake. There is a "classic" 10-kilometre distance and a shorter five-kilometre event. Kids can partake for free, while there's a $15 cash entry fee for adults. Fresh baked goods and draw prizes will be on tap, and walkers are welcome to join.

All proceeds go towards the Spud Valley Nordics. Learn more about the club
