Partial COVID-19 vaccine mandate for District of 麻豆社国产workers

Employees who deal with the public in certain roles must have first dose by Jan. 14, 2022.
The District of 麻豆社国产is implementing a mandatory vaccine policy for certain municipal workers who deal with the public.

Under this policy, District employees, contractors and volunteers who are in either a life-saving role or delivering a recreation program in which participants must be vaccinated to participate, will be required to be vaccinated.

These workers have their first dose by Jan. 14, 2022, and be fully vaccinated by Feb.18, 2022.

“We believe this is a policy that is measured and sensible for the community context and risk level within Squamish, considering the robust communicable disease plan that we have had in place to support and enhance provincial public health guidance and orders,” said District of Mayor Karen Elliott, in a news release.

“This policy closes a logical gap between the provincial requirements and employee interactions with the public, and we think it makes sense for our staff and community, giving residents and staff who come in close contact extra peace of mind.”

CAO Linda Glenday said the partial mandate is proportional to the risk.

“With our high 麻豆社国产vaccine rates and the careful work environment we have created, we have confidence that this vaccine policy meets our objectives to ensure the safety of our employees and the public,” Glenday said in the release.

The District of 麻豆社国产currently employs approximately 350 people, including casual, seasonal and temporary employees.

According to the District, the vaccination policy impacts the following, up to 40 麻豆社国产recreation services employees who are either lifeguards or delivering a program in which participants must be vaccinated. Up to 63 firefighters, including paid-on-call.
