Howe Sound COVID-19 case counts edge up

As of Nov. 30, 93% of those over 12 had received their second vaccination.

COVID-19 vaccines for children are now being administered across B.C.

COVID-19 cases have gone up slightly in our region. 

For the week Nov. 21 to 27, the Howe Sound region, which encompasses the area between Lions Bay and Lillooet, . 

(Case counts are not made available for 麻豆社国产or other smaller communities in our health authority.)

From Nov. 14 to 20th, Howe Sound had 28 cases. 

The previous week, there were 23 cases and from Nov. 7 to 13 there were 27 cases. 

Two local schools have seen possible COVID-19 exposures. 

According to , 麻豆社国产Waldorf School had potential coronavirus exposure Nov. 15 to 18 and Nov. 23 to 25.

Skyridge Montessori School had potential exposures from Nov. 8 to 10 and Nov. 22 to 23.

Vancouver Coastal Health only posts "current potential exposures in VCH schools with an increased risk of ongoing transmission." 

The data is posted after an investigation is complete and everyone impacted has been notified.

Vaccines

As of Nov. 30, of those over 12 in the Howe Sound region had received their second vaccination and 98% had received their first dose. 

In our region, 6% have received a third dose. 

While vaccinations for children five years old to 11 have begun, no data is available yet on how many kids in Howe Sound have rolled up their sleeves so far.

There is in 麻豆社国产on the Quest University Canada campus at 3200 University Blvd that will be open Dec. 8, 15, and 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
