Saanich police are asking the public to help locate a 23-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since Thursday, March 13.

Kielan Hall is described as six-feet tall and about 180 pounds with blue eyes and short brown hair. He has a number of tattoos, including a spider behind his left ear, a smiley face on the inside of his left forearm, and multiple chest tattoos.

Insp. Damian Kowalewich said Saanich police’s major crime detectives and its patrol division are working with other agencies to locate Hall.

“We are concerned for Mr. Hall’s well-being as he has exhibited behaviour that is out of character for him,” Kowalewich said in a statement.

Major crime detectives are involved in the investigation because patrol officers have determined that the investigation requires a different level of resources and expertise, he said.

Hall’s parents said on social media that the last known sighting of their son was on Thursday on Cooper Road in Esquimalt walking toward Admirals Road at 6 a.m.

He was wearing a light-coloured hoodie and grey sweat pants, as well as a black ballcap with an A emblazoned on the front, they said.

Lori Hall said her son last sent a Snapchat message to a friend shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday. “He was in a living room or bedroom and did not look well.”

The family is concerned that Hall may have overdosed, as he has not been heard from since.

“It has been very tough for both of us. He has always been in touch daily with his mother,” Sheldon Hall, Kielan’s father, said in an email.

According to parents, Hall is known to frequent other parts of Vancouver Island as well as Burnaby.

Anyone with information about Hall’s whereabouts is asked to contact Saanich police at 250-470-4321.
